An interaction I had with a friend on Instagram last evening had me thinking about the difference between "positive psychology" and "pop psychology." Sometimes the two are viewed as the same, which they are not. Positive psychology is an academic and practical field all about what REALLY makes us happy and lead meaningful lives, not about quick fixes, which characterizes pop psychology. As we all know in life, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And any "psychology" that promises happiness in 10 easy steps is probably bogus at best.
